A hardwood that gives the land back

Palmwood is made from coconut palms that have stopped bearing fruit — trees that would otherwise be burned. Harvesting them returns exhausted plantation land to the villages that farm it, to be replanted.

Denser than oak, it takes a finish like stone and has a grain no other timber produces.
